The Danery

Country kitchen and pub Soft play Holiday lets

Watercolour of The Danery from the road: the red-brick pub with tables, umbrellas and planters out front, a timber-clad wing with The Danery painted on it, and an old Land Rover parked outside.

The Danery is coming back to life

Closed for redevelopment. Reopening autumn 2027, subject to planning.

The Danery at Quatford is back with the Meadows family. Alan and Jenny Wright bought it in 1976 and their daughter Sara grew up here. They sold it in 2006, and in October 2026 the family bought it back, bringing the pub and its land together again alongside Danery Meadow Park, which we run across the road.

Watercolour of The Danery seen along its length: a long timber-clad building with tall windows and people at tables under umbrellas, a tall timber tower at the left-hand end, and the brick pub on the right.

We are restoring and extending the building to create a country kitchen and pub serving breakfast and lunch, a soft play and children's play space, and holiday lets at the back of the site. There is no food, drink or accommodation here while the work goes on.
